In northern Italy, the pressure drops and colder air from France causes precipitation over all of northwestern Italy. In some cases there have been hailstorms, especially between Liguria, Piedmont, Lombardy and most of Triveneto. Even in the Center there are scattered rain showers, especially in the regions of Lazio, Umbria and northern Marche.

In the South, however, temperatures continue to boil. The presence of the African anticyclone brings warm sirocco winds and clear skies… even too clear! Temperatures are still significantly above average and will continue to be so for some time, with thermometers often reaching and above 40 degrees Celsius.
