Microsoft is the largest computer company in the world, founded in 1975 by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, which today is present with its software on most personal and professional PCs.

His foundation literally changed the lives of billions of people around the world and exploded in the 1980s, beginning his irresistible rise to success.

At the end of 1990, the company had 4,037 employees and a turnover of 804,530,000 million dollars: today its employees are 181,000 worldwide and in 2021 it recorded revenues of 161 billion dollars.

Incredible growth, also due to the increasing attention to customer security that the company’s management is implementing, as happened recently, when it discovered a veritable factory of computer viruses, a stone’s throw away of our country.

Microsoft, discovered a virus factory close to Italy

The biggest perpetrators of cyberattacks or viruses are generally thought to be Russia or China, but the tech giant has uncovered a company in Austria responsible for creating thousands of malware. In the offices of a cybersecurity company, Microsoft identified the origin of the Subzero virus, which has been circulating on the planet for two years.

The American company has long called it Knotweed, and spotted it being the Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) along with the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC), the company’s cybersecurity hacking groups. Behind the pseudonym used by the company hides the DSIRF, an Austrian company which offers “a set of very sophisticated techniques for collecting and analyzing information”.
