The One Issue Democrats Probably Won’t Mention Tonight

During the second GOP presidential debate — also on CNN — the investigative video series on Planned Parenthood’s grisly business of abortion and the sale of baby parts took center stage. But, will we see the same during the Democratic debate tonight?

While the Democrats would much rather spend two hours discussing the antics of Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, they need to be asked the difficult questions and the American people deserve to know their answers.

CNN needs to ask the Democratic presidential candidates about the Planned Parenthood controversy and they each need to be pressed for specifics. Don’t pivot, don’t give a non-answer — be specific.

Planned Parenthood has come under fire over the past three months since the Center for Medical Progress investigative series, #PPSellsBabyParts, was launched back in July, and the heat has yet to cool. Congress debated defunding Planned Parenthood, the government nearly shut down because of it, and now Planned Parenthood is being investigated by Congress. Cecile Richards was even called to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee recently, which is probably a first for her.

But, even though this was huge news, the Left has tried everything to ignore it. They change the subject if it comes up, and they will never, I mean never, mention the word “abortion.”

The Obama administration avoided the videos completely in hopes that they could also avoid any direct questioning and that they could just use the Planned Parenthood talking points of “edited” when asked. Continue Reading

The GOP’s Secret Anti-Trump: Carly Fiorina

If you’re like me, you’re sitting on the edge of your seat, counting down the minutes until the second GOP presidential debate airs tonight on CNN. I can’t wait for the throwdowns, the banter, and the temper-tantrums. As much as I would enjoy seeing in-depth policy discussions and smart political commentary, I doubt we’re going to see much of that with television celebrity Donald Trump still topping the polls.

Trump thinks he’s invincible. And maybe he is. But the GOP has a secret weapon I want to see them launch at Trump tonight. And that’s my girl Carly Fiorina.

Carly is an incredible communicator, and, as we saw in the last debate, she is completely fearless. Carly is classy and articulate; she packs a punch and is willing to meet any attack or critic head-on. We saw this clearly during her interview on “The View” and throughout the last debate. Her presentation throughout the last Happy Hour debate was so powerful that, not only did she win the first debate, she dominated the main debate that evening as well.

Carly not only takes down her opponent, she takes down everything that gets in her way. Two days ago, Fiorina’s campaign released a powerful ad called “Look at this Face” that met Trump’s rude comments about her looks head on. But, not only did Carly hit Trump in the ad, the ad was so powerful that she also hit Hillary on the way out. Continue Reading

Fighting Fiorina Nails EMILY’s List to Wall

Over the weekend, “Fox News Sunday” hosted one of the most epic abortion debates that I have seen in a very long time. EMILY’s List VP Jess McIntosh and former Hewlett-Packard CEO and Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina got heated as they debated the recent undercover videos that exposed Planned Parenthood doctors discussing the sale of fetal organs and tissue:

Fiorina nailed it at the outset, saying:

This has nothing to do with whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life. This has to do with the moral foundation of our nation. If a woman was sitting outside of Planned Parenthood in her OB-GYN’s office looking at this ultrasound at the same point in her pregnancy, her doctor would say to her, ‘look at your baby. Look at its heartbeat. Look at its fingers and toes.’

Planned Parenthood has lobbied against a woman’s opportunity to look at an ultrasound before she makes an incredibly difficult choice to end the unborn life within her. And yet they are using that same technology to harvest body parts, which they claim are not a life, in order to sell them to save another life. It’s unbelievably hypocritical and I find it astounding that anyone can defend it.

McIntosh of EMILY’s List pushed back but continuously struggled to defend Planned Parenthood and their sale of fetal organs. Time and time again, McIntosh fell flat and was pummeled by Fiorina. After countless failures, McIntosh then tried to salvage her position by using the typical Planned Parenthood talking point that the videos were “heavily edited.” To which Fiorina responded,

I find it fascinating that Planned Parenthood, EMILY’s List and the rest of the pro-abortion lobby are now suddenly so concerned about a heavily edited video.

Fiorina: “GOP Needs to Reclaim Feminism”

Carly Fiorina is causing a ruckus by bringing the word “feminism” into the limelight and challenging conservatives to reclaim it.

The Left is desperately scrambling to paint Fiorina and her campaign as “offensive to women.” But Fiorina remains fearless and steadfast against these attacks, continuing her push for conservatives to redefine and reclaim feminism.

Fiorina has discussed feminism in countless interviews and TV appearances over the past week, including during her appearance on the left-leaning show The View. But it all began when she made “feminism” the centerpiece of her speech at the Competitive Enterprise Institute dinner last week.

“Feminism began as a rallying cry to empower women — to vote, to get an education, to enter the workplace,” Fiorina said at the CEI dinner. “But over the years, feminism has devolved into a left-leaning political ideology where women are pitted against men and used as a political weapon to win elections.”

“It is important to have this conversation as conservatives. It is important to have this conversation as Republicans,” Fiorina continued. “[The Left’s] version of feminism isn’t working. It’s time for a new definition.”

For years, we’ve let the Left define the word “feminism.” They mention the word and we get defensive or change the subject.

Sound familiar? That’s because that’s exactly what happened with abortion back in 2012. Any time President Obama or any liberal brought up abortion — or any of the social issues for that matter — Romney and other GOP candidates would pivot away from the issue and change the subject. Is Scott Walker 2016’s Version of Mitt Romney?

The Pulse’s own Terry Schilling was featured in The Daily Caller yesterday with a piece comparing Scott Walker to Mitt Romney. After looking closely at the two candidates, many unsettling similarities begin to appear:

Mitt Romney’s appeal was due to the fact that he was a Republican who was able to overcome great odds by getting elected in a blue state and by passing a signature policy achievement with universal health care reform.

Scott Walker’s appeal is that he is a Republican who has managed to get elected (three times) in a blue(-ish) state and managed to secure his own signature legislative achievement with public sector union reform.

Unfortunately, that’s not where the similarities stop.

Like Romney, Walker is less than eager to talk about the policies he’d support to protect innocent, unborn children if elected President. Walker has even been hesitant about supporting widely popular proposals like Sen. Lindsay Graham’s Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection act, which limits abortion after the 20th week of a pregnancy when the child can feel pain. The bill polls at a strong 60 percent support among nearly all demographics, including women, youth, and Hispanic voters.

Walker can try to pivot away from abortion to jobs and the national debt, but unless he addresses the abortion issue head-on, he will follow the same end as Romney’s campaign. If Walker becomes the GOP’s candidate for President, would he ask Hillary Clinton, Liz Warren, or Martin O’Malley whether or not they support aborting a seven-pound baby?

GOP Candidates Talk Common Core in New Hampshire

Many of the GOP presidential candidates appeared in New Hampshire this past weekend to attend the New Hampshire Republican Leadership Summit, and Common Core was frequently discussed. Below are quotes we found from each of the candidates (or reports on the candidates):

Rick Perry via Politico: “Common Core is every bit as problematic as Obamacare.”

Ted Cruz via Politico: “We need to repeal every word of Common Core.”

Rand Paul via the New Hampshire Union Leader: “The audience applauded loudly as Paul spoke of his opposition to Common Core curriculum standards and when he called for school choice, a balanced budget amendment, and term limits for Congress.”

Bobby Jindal via Politico: “A lot of politicians say they’re against Common Core. I’m actually in federal court right now suingPresident Obama and suing Arne Duncan… to stop it.”

Chris Christie via the New Hampshire Union Leader: “I’m open to changing it because it’s not working in New Jersey.”

Jeb Bush via the New Hampshire Union Leader: “Bush, a supporter of Common Core, was asked about the curriculum standards by an audience member. He responded that the standards are higher than in most states, but that the federal government should stay out of local control of education.”

Marco Rubio via The New York Times: “I’m very cautious about the federal government’s role in establishing curriculum standards. The federal government always ends up turning a carrot into a stick, right? …If I was president of the United States, I would not have a Department of Education, perhaps at all.

1.) Planned Parenthood is ignoring the ban on partial-birth abortion.

2.) Planned Parenthood is aborting babies and selling their body parts to unknown buyers.
