Noted pro-life leader Prof. Gerard Bradley reacted to Scott Walker’s remarks, in which Gov. Walker claimed he couldn’t do anything to protect the right to life because the Supreme Court has ruled:
Governor Walker’s replies indicate reliably that he recognizes the truth about when people begin—and the truth is that people begin at fertilization. And he surely recognizes, then, that abortions kill people, who have just as much right to live as did his now 21-year old son, when he was in the womb of the Governor’s wife Tonete.
And so it is all the more tragic that Governor Walker cannot—at least in this exchange with Chris Wallace—actually bring himself to declare that Roe v. Wade is a gross injustice, that it must be reversed, and that he will work assiduously to bring about precisely that end. One more thing for sure: Roe will never be reversed and the lives of so many unborn children saved unless our political leaders are willing to speak about the horrors of abortion in much more stark and vivid terms than Governor Walker is willing to do. America will not restore justice to the unborn by wordsmithing it away, and by dancing around forthright questions, as did the Governor in this interview.
